Work

Looking at systems from different lenses.

Internships, projects, and research, pinned up roughly as they happened.

Experience

Three roles, three very different problems.

May 2026 – Present

AI/ML Intern

Dominion Energy — IT & Data Analytics

Migrated and rebuilt four production revenue-forecasting models into Dataiku, maintaining or improving predictive performance across millions in revenue planning. Led a proof-of-concept for AI-driven inventory deduplication, projected to save roughly $200K over third-party vendor options.

Projects

Hackathons, coursework, and things built for the sake of building them.

2026

pilly

Smart pill container + companion app

Ran 180+ customer interviews on medication adherence among young adults, then co-built a context-aware reminder system (calendar + GPS) to cut notification fatigue around dosing and refills. User testing showed reduced stress and more confidence in daily routines.

r/AITA Classifier

CS 4641 — Machine Learning

Cleaned, embedded, visualized, and classified 1.76M Reddit posts across four models: Naive Bayes, Random Forest, LightGBM, and a neural network. Then compared performance and tested against real, unseen posts.

PythonNLPScikit-learn

2025

UrbanPulse

Exploratory Project

Explored 2024 NOAA storm data (60K+ records) to identify patterns and trends in severe weather events. Performed feature engineering, created embeddings, and built Random Forest models to classify storm type and predict impacts.

EDAFeature EngineeringRandom Forest

2025

codeverse

Hackalytics

Built an AI mock technical interviewer using speech-to-text, an LLM, and text-to-speech to simulate a real interview with feedback. Led the frontend build in Mantine, focused on making it feel intuitive under time pressure.

Research

Labs and long-running questions, alongside the internships.

Jan – May 2026

Undergraduate Researcher

Aerospace Systems Design Lab — AFRL collaboration

Researching reinforcement-learning policies for aerospace training simulations. Implemented and evaluated a Soft Actor-Critic (SAC) control policy within the lab's plug-and-play simulation environment to inform autonomous decision strategies under uncertainty.

Reinforcement LearningSimulation

Aug – Dec 2025

Research Assistant

Sonification Lab

Evaluated five mapping technologies for accessible map design aimed at visually impaired users, helped define usability metrics, and built datasets that fed subsequent experiment pipelines.

AccessibilityHCI

Jan – May 2024

Undergraduate Researcher

Georgia Tech VIP — Iceman Team

Modeled glacial plume dynamics in MATLAB and MITgcm to study how melt rates affect sea-level rise, and documented workflows to make results reproducible across a multi-semester research team.

MATLABFluid DynamicsClimate

Jun – Aug 2022

Computer Science Research Intern

VCU College of Engineering — NLP Lab
